Starting over isn't easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan, who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of becoming an LAPD officer. As the force's oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can't keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he'll be risking lives -- including his own -- but if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become successful in this new chapter of his life.
I absolutely love this show. I have watched it 3 times now I think which is a lot because I discovered it 3ish years ago. This show has a great mix between funny and serious. I love all the characters so much. I especially like how for a show about cops, there’s a good mix between men and women cops and that the women cops aren’t seen as weak. They even hinted to this in an episode in the first season. I will say I’m not the happiest with the newest season so far, but there is still more episodes to come for it to redeem itself. This series does a good job about touching on important issues happening in the world in an easy way.
