Welcome to my hobbies website! Here I will be showing you pictures of what I work on in my spare time. I love putting my creativity into these passion projects, as well as others that aren't listed here, or that I haven't completed yet. Read the descriptions below of each hobby, then click through the pages in the navigation bar to read further in detail about each one. Thanks for reading, have fun, and feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!
This is a picture of the gallery wall I have in the living room of my apartment. t contains pictures of my ancestors collected by my grandmother, which I then restored with Photoshop, then printed them to fit the frames I had bought from antique stores and thrift shops. I plan to expand the gallery wall to either end of the wall, but I only have a few more pictures to add to it, and finding frames takes a while as well. But, it has been very fun to make and brings me so much joy to see it every day.
Originally I began collecting embroidery thread to make bracelets for my friends and I, and then eventually decided to take up embroidery itself. Since then, I've enjoyed adding unique detail to my clothes, kitchen towels, etcetera.Click on the 'embroidery' tab above to view some of the embroidery work I've done.
Creating art with something as simple as paper and pencil is something I have enjoyed doing for my whole life. As I've gotten older, I've expanded my horizons, of course.. I've been doing increasingly more digital art, mixed media works, and canvas paintings. I've also done some commissions in the past for family and friends.
Collecting plants has become one of my favorite ways to brighten up my apartment. I enjoy caring for and seeing all kinds of different plants in my windowsill. Each of them is unique and requires different ways of taking care of them as far as different amounts of water, plant food, light, repotting, and so on.
I have pretty unique taste when it comes to my home decor. I love antique items, specifically Victorian style decor. Over the past few years, I've gone to many different antique and thrift stores across the midwest to acquire some of the items in my various collections. Specifically, I like to collect cast iron skillets, doilies, picture frames, glass jars, seasonings, Pokemon cards, etcetera.
Sometimes, the things I find in antique stores require a bit of care to get back to their original glory. I've restored a few of the things I bring home, namely a desk from around 100 years ago. Additionally, I've done many other DIY's to add a unique touch to the items in my home.
