Major and Minor chords are the chords mostly used in songs, and are a good way to start learning songs on the ukelele. Major and Minor Chords are the two most important types of chords in music. I picked out some easy chords that are common in alot of beginner-level songs. The chords below go a long way and would be in alot of other songs then the ones below, if you wanted to branch out from the songs I have listed.
Major Chords areĀ a triad, which means it is a chord made up of three notes. Major chords are often described as the happy chords. When you
play or listen to a song most of the time it will be in a major key followed by the Minor Key.
Minor Chords are usually described as sad Any musical chord which has a minor third, as opposed to a major third, above its root, especially a minor triad. sounds darker than a major chord but is still considered highly consonant, and stable when looking at chords the bottom of the ukelele is always to the right and the top is the left.
To play your ukulele you will have to remember your chords and the ones I have are a great start. The hand to the right will help you in learning were to place your figures on the strings. For example to play a "A" chord you will put your finger, finger number 1, on 3rd string of the first fret and your second figure, finger number 2, on the 4th string of the second fret. Pressing those two down while you strum with your other hand will make the A Major Chord.
