My Connection to Oasis
My dad has listened to Oasis my entire life, so their music was always around me, even when I wasn’t paying much attention to it. For a long time, I never really took the time to listen closely myself. But in the past few years, that has completely changed.
I’ve become genuinely obsessed with their sound and the feeling their music creates. What makes it even more meaningful to me is that it’s something I now share with my dad. Listening to Oasis has become a connection between us, and it’s something I really value.
Noel (left) and Liam (right) grew up in Manchester, England. In 1991 Liam joined the band The Rain, and shortly after Noel joined, bringing his songwriting skills. In 1993, the band—now named Oasis—signed a record deal with Creation Records.
In 1994, Oasis released their first album *Definitely Maybe*, the fastest-selling debut album in UK history. As fame grew, tensions between the brothers increased, shaping both their music and legacy.
